Two Incredible Destinations, One Amazing Community
Invermere on the Lake sits at the heart of the Columbia Valley on the edge of the Canadian Rockies—just a scenic drive from Calgary through Banff and Kootenay National Parks, or two hours north of the Cranbrook airport. Surrounded by Radium and Fairmont Hot Springs, Panorama Mountain Resort, and Columbia Lake, Invermere is the lively hub of the valley—where mountain adventure meets lakeside relaxation. Enjoy world-class skiing in winter and golf, hiking, and water fun all summer long.
Nestled between the Purcell and Rocky Mountains, Invermere on the Lake blends small-town charm with art, culture, and outdoor adventure. From lakeside skating in winter to vibrant galleries and festivals in summer, it’s the lively heart of the Columbia Valley.
Just minutes from Invermere, Panorama offers world-class skiing, heli-skiing, and mountain adventures year-round. Its cozy alpine village, hot pools, and endless trails make it the perfect mountain escape for families and thrill-seekers alike.
The Toby Creek Nordic Ski Club is proud to promote and maintain the Lake Windermere Whiteway. The Whiteway is a 30km+ groomed track that runs all the way around the lake and connects the town of Invermere and enclave communities along the east shore of Lake Windermere.
Powder Highway
Just like the “Stairway to Heaven”, the Powder Highway is the road to a one-of-a-kind adventure on skis or on a snowboard. Located in the Kootenay Rockies region, the Powder Highway refers to the area that boasts the highest concentration of alpine resort, backcountry, cat, heli and nordic skiing/riding in the WORLD!
